As part of my BFA degree project, I decided to redesign the visual identity for a cultural institution. Opera Națională Română Iași needed a modern and coherent identity that reflected its mission and values.


The architectural details served as inspiration for constructing the wordmark. A customized contemporary serif type was chosen to capture the spirit of such an institution. The result is a logo that can be used with both the official and the colloquial name.
